New Polls

For those of you on a feed-reader, you may not be able to tell that I have added two new polls. I want to know how you feel about cassettes on the cusp of 2012. I also want to know what formats of music you listen to (although I have left off streaming and radio options, as well as more obscure and limited options like reel-to-reel). Let me know what you think.

  1. Would it be too much to ask you to change your first poll? I rarely listen to my cassettes but I did not get rid of them.

  2. Nice to see some new polls. Not sure why you left off streaming though. Spotify has been established here in the UK (and Europe) for a couple of years and is very popular. It is generally excellent for metal (particularly European metal) - regardless of whether you support its business model.

  3. I left it off because that was addressed in an earlier poll, the results of which were discussed in my interview with Chris Bruni. That poll was looking at how people get their music, i.e. whether they stream, get digital files, get physical copies, and if physical copies whether they get them online or at a brick-and-mortar store. This time, I'm more interested in the format of music that people actually obtain (rather than simply hearing, as with streaming or radio). I'm looking at what factors people consider important in a format--fidelity, convenience, the human factor of physical formats, etc.

  4. And, more specifically I might add, I'm interested in how people feel about cassettes in particular.

  5. Well that's me told!

  6. I personally still love cassettes and do buy them on occasion. As you can tell from my blog once in awhile, I do like to dig them out.
