Metal Briefs: Two by Two by Two

Proportional

More two-sentence reviews for two-song releases. That is all the information you shall receive.

Afterworldsmen: Afterworldsmen (2013)
3.5 out of 5 stars

The first song demonstrates a lukewarm allegiance to the more progressive branch of USBM. But the second also shows an awesome, heavy metal-influenced side.

DBUK: The Red Cross Is Giving Out Misinformation (2013)
4 out of 5 stars

Featuring Slim Cessna and and Jay Munly, DBUK is about as close as it gets to a dark Americana supergroup. It sounds as good as I'd expect, but your mileage will vary based on how much you like this style.

Pesanta Urfolk

Twilight Fauna: EP (2013)
3 out of 5 stars

Over half of it is some intense acoustic guitar paired with simple drums. The rest is indistinct, unremarkable black metal.
